Peyragudes
is the most resolutely modern and adventurous of
the Pyrenean ski resorts. Not just content to play
host to James Bond in Tomorrow never dies,
the resort has been at the sharp end of ski innovation
over the past 10 seasons : bringing snow canons
and electronic passes to the Pyrenees long before
the others, encouraging other activities such as
snow scooters and dog-sleds, and making Peyragudes
into one of the top Pyrenean resorts.
With 43 pistes (3 black , 15 red, 20 blue and 5
green) and 17 lifts, this resort offers challenging
slopes and something for everyone. There is a snow
park for boarding with a half-pipe, boarder cross
and handrails. At an altitude of 1600 to 2400m, 110
ski canons ensure good snow conditions. Other types
of winter sport activities such as free ride, dog
sleigh riding, as well as snowshoe trips, cross country
skiing, trekking and paragliding are also possible.
There are no excuses for not having an active and
exiting holiday here!
Below
you, to the East, is the bustling spa town of Bagnères-de-Luchon
- a twenty minute drive away, where any number
of lively cafés, restaurants
and night clubs await you. And a casino. But this
break is designed mainly for those who like to be
on the pistes: you don't have to leave the hotel
to find entertainment, food and drink ... and the
slopes begin at the front door. 
To the west lies the Louron valley,
the village of Loudenvielle and the spa centre
of Balnéo.
