Bagnères
- LA MONGIE
Ski'n'spa
break in the Pyrenees

This
is an unusual ski break which combines two
days on the slopes of one of France's
best resorts with après-ski spa
visits in the turn-of-the-century Spa town of
Bagnères-de-Bigorre. Each day you can access
the slopes by shuttle or car (provided) and then
enjoy a couple of hours relaxing in the warm
thermal waters, the sauna, hammam and other water-based
therapy facilities. Bagnères is a delightful
little town with wide streets, Edwardian parks
and street furniture and a Casino.
SKIING
La
Mongie is the largest ski resort in the French
Pyrenees in terms of kilometres of pistes.
It is located on the famous Tourmalet pass
where many a Tour de France has been lost and
won not far from the mighty Pic du Midi.
Other winter sports include nordic skiing,
snowscooter excursions, dog-sledding and snow-shoe
hiking. Experienced skiers may even attempt
the perilous descent
from the top of the
Pic du Midi (3000m) in the company of a mountain guide.
